The Cost of Greed: A Miser's Tale Once upon a time, there was a man named Jack. He lived in a small, quiet village. Everyone in the village knew Jack because he loved to collect things. Jack had many toys, many stamps, and many shiny coins. But out of everything he owned, his   favorite things were his gold coins . Jack loved gold coins more than anything. He liked to look at them, hold them, and count them every day. He did not buy anything with them. He just liked   counting them . Jack had a big garden behind his house. Birds sang every morning, and children played near their homes. In this quiet village lived a kind young boy named   Jack . Jack lived in a small wooden house with his loving mother. They were very poor. Jack’s father had passed away many years ago, and since then, life had been hard. Jack’s mother worked every day. She cleaned houses, stitched clothes, and did small jobs to earn money. Even though she worked very hard, they often did not have enough food. One morning, Jack’s mother looked worried. She sat on a wooden chair and said softly, “Jack, we have no money left.
