The Cost of Greed: A Miser's Tale A man by the name of Jack once lived in a small village. Jack was well-known for his love of collecting things. Although he had a large collection of toys, stamps, and coins, his most prized possessions were his gleaming gold coins. Jack frequently spent time in his large garden. The peace and quiet he experienced in the garden was cherished by him. Before going to bed, Jack would always take out his coins and count them one by one. After that, he would gently bury them in the garden under a collection of stones. Jack enjoyed counting his pennies, but he never bought anything with them.
