The Stork's Deception: How the Clever Crab Saved the Tank
A stork used to reside next to a gorgeous fish tank in a tranquil hamlet once upon a time. The stork had a delectable meal every day and was an expert hunter. But as he got older, he found it harder and harder to capture fish for food. Sometimes he would be so ravenous that he would go days without eating.
The stork devised a scheme one day. He didn't try to capture any fish, just stood by the tank with a dejected expression on his face. The tank's fish, frogs, and crabs observed and inquired as to what was wrong.
The stork responded in a dejected tone, "I've heard that some people plan to fill this tank with soil and cover it with vegetation soon. There won't be any fish alive anymore. This saddens me."
The stork was questioned by the concerned fish about what they could do to assist.
The stork uttered: "I can transport you all to a larger tank located farther away. However, due to my advanced age, I would have to take breaks between trips and could only transport a small number of fish at once."
The fish consented to accompany the stork because they appreciated his assistance. The stork set off on his trip, catching a few fish at a time in his beak. Instead of transporting them to a different tank, he flew to a nearby large boulder and ate them there. He would make another journey with a few more fish whenever he was hungry.
The crab, who was observing everything from the tank, became very concerned when she discovered what was going on. He was aware that he needed to devise a strategy to protect himself. He walked up to the bird and uttered, "Please bring me along, uncle. I do not wish to fall behind."
The stork decided to bring the crab along because he might as well sample a different dish for a change. The stork flew up alongside the crab, but after some time, the crab turned to gaze at the tank he was headed for. But all he could make out was dry land.
He questioned, "Uncle, where is the big tank you are transporting me to?"
As he pointed to a rock below, the stork chuckled. Fish bones were piled high on the boulder. The crustacean understood that the stork would be eating him next. He immediately came up with a plan to save himself. The crab inserted its razor-sharp claws into the stork's neck and held on until the bird dropped to the ground dead.
The stork's head was severed by the crab, who then carried it to the tank where he resided. He explained to everyone there how the stork had been defrauding them and how he had murdered him.
The crab received a great deal of gratitude from the fish, amphibians, and crabs for protecting them from the cunning stork. They made the crab their leader in honour of his courage and cunning. The crab never had to worry about being eaten again and lived happily ever after in the tank with his pals.
Moral of the story: Always be careful and think wisely before trusting anyone.
