The Bird and the Sea

On the coast, a husband and wife pair of Tittibha birds resided. The female Tittibha bird was hoping to start a family and lay eggs.

"My dear, please look for some good and safe place for me to lay eggs as it is almost time for me to lay the them," she pleaded with her husband when the time came to lay her eggs.

The male Tittibha bird, on the other hand, exclaimed, "Dearest, where in the world could be a better place than this seashore?" Satisfy lay your eggs here."

"The waves of the sea on full moon nights are so high that they can drag even an elephant into it," she said in opposition. No, please locate a different location.

"The Sea would not even dare to do any harm to my children!," exclaimed the male Tittibha bird with a chuckle. Lay eggs here without stress and without unnecessary fear."

"From a small bird as he, such impudence is not expected," the Sea thought as it had been constantly hearing this. I will most certainly remove his eggs to observe his subsequent behavior and instruct him."

Inside a couple of days, the female Tittibha bird laid her eggs in the coastline. The Sea began to make waves shortly after the birds left in search of food. The eggs were swallowed up by the waves as they rose in height.

The nest was empty when the birds returned later. "See for yourself that the waves of the sea has swallowed our eggs," the female Tittibha bird began to weep bitterly. When I asked you to find a secure location to lay eggs, you would have been foolish not to listen."

"Dear, don't you worry," the male Tittibha bird continued in his stupidity. I will demonstrate my genius to you. I will force the sea to return our eggs by drying it."

"How can you dry this enormous sea?" asked the female Tittibha bird.

"Even small beings can overcome the strongest opponents if they are zealous," said the male Tittibha bird. Thus, I intend to evaporate the entire ocean by sucking its water with my mouth."

"How can you suck the sea dry, when rivers like the Ganges and Indus flow into it?" the wife argued. This babbling is not helpful." "I'll work day and night to suck all the water from the sea with my beak, which is as solid as iron," the husband argued. Man can only succeed if he puts in the effort.

The female Tittibha bird comprehended that she can not persuade him, "Dear, it is useless to contend. Please ask your friends for help if you want to conquer the sea. "All right, I will do this with the help of my friends," the husband agreed.

Now, the male Tittibha bird's friends were called, and the male Tittibha bird told them all about his problem with the sea, how it had insulted him, and how he plans to dry the sea to get his revenge.

The task was impossible for all of the birds, including the swan, crane, peacock, and others: "There is no good in this babbling." We are unable to completely dry the sea by sucking it up. Let us instead pay a visit to our king, Garuda—the Hindu mythological king of birds and Lord Vishnu's vehicle. He will become enraged and seek vengeance when he learns that the sea has been harassing us. We will be relieved, even if we just pay him a visit to get his advice.

They all went to Garuda, their king, as they had decided, and they told him why they were so sad: "O King, the sea has robbed the eggs of the good Tittibha birds even though you are our protector." Our race as a whole will perish if this continues."

The birds were in dire straits, so Garuda agreed to travel and dry the entire sea. Similarly as he was leaving, a courier showed up from Ruler Vishnu who required his help on the double, for some heavenly undertaking.

"I am such a common servant to the Lord for him to need me," Garuda told the messenger, explaining that he was unable to serve his master at this time. The Tittibha birds' eggs have been swallowed by the sea, the Lord's resting place. I won't serve him in the event that he won't compel the ocean to return the eggs without a moment's delay. My firm resolution is this. Please inform him of it."

Lord Vishnu had the thought, "I can understand his behavior and need to pacify him," when his messenger told him about Garuda's decision. He is all the birds' king and protector. I must immediately meet Garuda."

"O Master, the sea, which is your resting place has insulted me by swallowing the eggs of my humble servant, the good Tittibha birds," Lord Vishnu said as he paid Garuda a respectful bow. I have not taken any action in retaliation because of my respect for you.

"Come with me Garuda," he pleaded, was considered by Lord Vishnu. You are correct. The sea shouldn't have done this intentionally. Let's go and give the Tittibha birds the eggs back. We will then depart because I require your assistance.

Lord Vishnu rebuked the sea when they all went to the beach. "O Sea, you have been wicked," he warned with a thunderbolt. Don't delay in returning the Tittibha birds' eggs or you won't dare to face my ire."

The sea was terrified when it heard the warning from Lord Vishnu himself. It immediately expressed regret and gave the Tittibha birds the eggs back.

Indeed, wise people say: Try not to underrate the force of the bashful.
