The Brave Crow and the Sly Serpent

The Brave Crow and the Sly Serpent

crow and the serpent

In the middle of a dense jungle, there was a sizable banyan tree. Its branches stretch out in all directions, covering the ground with a thick layer of shade. The leaves on the branches were thick and rustled in the breeze. Sunny the crow happened to perch on one of the branches one day. Sunny savoured the cooling effect of the banyan tree's breeze on the sweltering summer day.

He took a glance around and was dismayed to see no nests on such a grand, amiable tree. He was unable to hear the mynahs' piercing cries, the squirrels' chattering, or the sparrows' twittering. Sunny noticed the tree was quiet and serene despite the odd situation.

He took his fiancée Mia to the tree the following day. On one of the large limbs of the tree, the two crows laboriously constructed a nest. The two cherished living there.

Four eggs were produced by Mia a few months later. Four crow chicks eventually emerge from the eggs after some time. Sunny and Mia were overjoyed. The following day, they flew to locate some juicy worms for the peckish babies. But when they came back later that night, they discovered the infants were gone.

Sunny and Mia cried out in anguish at the top of their lungs. Inquiring as to whether the chicks had left the nest, they soared all around the banyan tree. But the ladies were nowhere to be found.

Sunny found a hole at the foot of the tree as he was looking nearby the ground. Inside was pitch black. He abruptly noticed a set of thin eyes. Sunny's pulse jumped in fear. But the orbs vanished as soon as he blink. Sunny assumed he must have been hallucinating. To Mia, he said nothing.

Mia once more laid embryos a few months later. The parents were pleased to see the newborn chickens once more. The infants were in good condition. However, they were incredibly famished. Sunny and Mia had to leave the nest in order to locate food, even though they didn't want to abandon the chicks.

Once more, they discovered the nest to be vacant when they came back in the evening. Sunny at once recalled the hole at the tree's root. He took off to see if he could locate the orbs he had previously seen. It was black in the hole. But Sunny noticed a feather at its lips. A raven feather, that is.

He crowed angrily at the gap. Inside the cavity, the noise echoed. Sunny continued to crow angrily. There was an abrupt deafening hiss. Sunny recoiled in fright. From the hole came a large black cobra. It gave Sunny a chilly glance before returning inside.

When Sunny reached Mia, he hastened to tell her everything he had seen. Mia felt uneasy. "I now understand why this tree lacks any eggs. This serpent consumes young birds. Leave Sunny now. I'm very anxious.

Sunny remarked, "We can't abandon our house, Mia.

I know you like this tree, Sunny. But don't you believe we can be content no matter where we are? Imagine how joyful we will be when we have children. Mia said.

"Certainly, we'll be pleased. However, I detest being compelled to depart. Consider all the birds who had similar thoughts and left this lovely tree. Mia, don't fret. I will formulate a strategy.

After some time, Mia started laying eggs once more. She repeatedly questioned Sunny about his plans. Her concern was for her babies.

Sunny, meanwhile, was unsure of how to handle the serpent. He made the choice to enlist the aid of his pal Jackal. The entire tale was heard by the dog. He took a lengthy walk without saying a word. He had a grin on his face when he came back. The strategy was murmured into Sunny's ear.

Sunny flew towards the river the following day. He waited while perched on a sizable boulder. He soon found what he was looking for. The river was being neared by a sizable crowd. It was the monarch of the realm picnicking by the river. On the grass, the monarch emerged. The queen sat down after her assistants laid out a soft mattress. She removed her jewellery so she could unwind in the sunshine.

Sunny had been anticipating this time for a while. He climbed onto the mattress, took the jewellery, and took off. Sunny made sure that he flew slowly so that the soldiers could see him while the queen's guards rushed after him.

He soon arrived at the banyan tree and threw the chain into the snake's burrow. The troops advanced quickly. To get the necklace out of the hole, they started to excavate. They abruptly heard a hiss. The snake was there. It opened its hood and prepared to assault anyone who came at it. However, the troops were shrewd. The serpent was beaten with sticks before being thrown away. They located the jewellery and gave it back to the monarch.

Sunny and Mia were in a great vantage point to see everything that occurred. Sunny gave the troops a cawed-thanks. Sunny and Mia heard a crack as soon as the troops were gone. First chick emerged from shell with head protruding. Mia and Sunny grinned. All of the chicks emerged one by one. This time, they all cohabited contentedly.
