True Friends (Deer, Pigeon, and Mouse)
Once upon a time, in a big green forest, there lived a deer, a pigeon, and a little mouse. They were very good friends. Every day, they would play together near the pond. They drank water from the pond, ate sweet fruits from the trees, and ran and flew all around the forest.
The deer said, “I love our forest home. I love playing with my friends too!”
The pigeon cooed happily, “Yes! We are the best friends ever. Nothing can harm us when we are together.”
The little mouse squeaked, “Friends forever!”
One sunny morning, while the three friends were playing near the pond, a hunter came to the forest. The hunter wanted to catch animals. He wanted to catch the deer first because the deer was very fast and strong.
The hunter carefully set a trap with a big net. He hid it behind the bushes. Then he waited quietly.
The deer walked near the trap and got caught in the net. He struggled and shouted, “Help! Help! I am trapped!”
The pigeon flew down quickly. “Don’t panic, my friend! We will save you,” said the pigeon. “I will watch where the hunter is and try to stop him. Our little friend, the mouse, will cut the net, and you can run away.”
The mouse said bravely, “Yes! I will save you, deer. Don’t worry!”
The pigeon flew high in the sky and saw the hunter far away. The pigeon swooped down and started pecking near the hunter. “Hey! Stop there!” the pigeon shouted. The hunter was surprised and scared. He waved his hands, “What is happening? Why is this pigeon attacking me?”
The deer struggled in the net. “Hurry, mouse! Hurry!” the deer shouted.
The little mouse ran to the net. With tiny sharp teeth, the mouse started biting the ropes carefully. “Almost there… almost free!” squeaked the mouse.
The hunter ran toward the deer, but suddenly, a group of pigeons came from the trees. They started pecking the hunter. “Go away! Go away!” they shouted together. The hunter got scared. He dropped his net and ran away as fast as he could.
The deer was free. “Thank you! Thank you, my brave friends!” said the deer happily.
The pigeon cooed, “We are a team. Together, we can do anything!”
The mouse smiled, “Yes! We are the best friends in the whole forest!”
From that day, the deer, pigeon, and mouse became even closer. They promised to always help each other no matter what happened.
One day, the pigeon had to fly to another forest to deliver some important news to his friends there. As he was flying high in the sky, he noticed smoke rising from the forest near his home.
“Oh no! There is fire in our forest!” the pigeon thought. He quickly turned around and flew back to his friends.
When the pigeon reached the pond, he shouted, “Friends! Our forest is on fire! We must help!”
The deer’s eyes grew wide. “Oh no! Our home! We must save the other animals!”
The little mouse shivered but said bravely, “Let’s go quickly. We can do this together.”
The three friends ran toward the forest. Flames were everywhere. The animals were running in all directions. Some were trapped, unable to find a way out.
The deer said, “I have an idea! I will carry water from the lake and pour it on the fire.”
The pigeon called out to other birds, “Fly, friends! Help us! Bring water and food for the trapped animals!”
The little mouse ran in and out of the fire, making safe paths for small animals. “This way! Quick! Follow me!” the mouse squeaked.
The deer worked hard. He ran to the lake, filled his mouth with water, and ran back to the fire. Splash! Splash! The fire started to go out little by little.
The pigeon flew above the fire. He guided the birds to carry water and food. “Drop the water here! Drop it there!”
Together, the deer, pigeon, mouse, and other animals worked very hard. The fire started to die down. Slowly, the flames disappeared.
All the trapped animals cheered, “Hurray! Thank you, friends! You saved our lives!”
The deer, pigeon, and mouse hugged each other. “We did it! Together we can do anything!” said the deer.
The pigeon cooed softly, “We are true friends. Friends always help each other in times of need.”
The mouse smiled and said, “Yes, friendship is the greatest power in the world.”
From that day on, the three friends were known as the heroes of the forest. Every animal in the forest loved and respected them. They learned a big lesson: true friends always stand by each other.
