The Farmer and the Little Birds Once upon a time, in a quiet village surrounded by green fields, there lived a farmer. He was not a bad man, but he often depended on others to do his work. Near his wheat field stood a tall and old tree. On this tree lived a small bird with her three little babies. The mother bird had built a neat nest using dry grass, soft leaves, and tiny twigs.
