The Thirsty Crow – Moral Story
One hot summer day, the sun was shining brightly in the sky. The land was dry, and there was very little water left anywhere. On this day, a small black crow was flying from place to place in search of water. He was very thirsty and weak because he had not found even a single drop of water since morning.
This is the famous story of The Thirsty Crow, which teaches children the value of intelligence and never giving up.
The crow flew over fields, houses, and gardens. He looked everywhere — on tree branches, near ponds, and beside roads — but there was no water. The heat was strong, and his throat felt dry.
After flying for a long time, the crow became tired.
“If I don’t find water soon, I won’t survive,” he thought sadly.
Still, he did not lose hope.
Suddenly, the crow saw a pot near a house. Feeling hopeful, he flew down quickly and peeped inside the pot.
There was some water at the bottom, but it was very low. The crow tried to put his beak inside, but he could not reach the water.
The crow felt disappointed.
“There is water, but I cannot drink it,” he said.
The crow did not give up. He looked around carefully and noticed small stones lying on the ground near the pot.
Suddenly, he got a clever idea.
“If I drop these stones into the pot, the water level might rise,” he thought.
The crow picked up one small stone in his beak and dropped it into the pot. Then he picked another stone and dropped it inside.
Plop… plop… plop…
Slowly, the water level began to rise. The crow continued his work patiently. It was not easy, but he did not stop.
After dropping many stones, the water finally came near the top of the pot.
The crow happily drank the water and felt refreshed. His thirst was gone, and he felt strong again.
“Hard work and intelligence always bring success,” the crow thought.
He spread his wings and flew away happily into the sky.
Moral of the Story
Where there is a will, there is a way.
Intelligence is more powerful than strength.
